Arla Protein Pudding Recall in Mauritius Over Glass Fragment Risk
BrandActiv is pulling three Arla Protein Pudding flavours from shelves across Mauritius after the manufacturer warned of possible glass fragments in certain batches.
BrandActiv, the Mauritian distributor for Arla Foods products, has launched an island-wide product recall after the Danish dairy giant flagged a potential safety hazard in several batches of its Arla Protein Pudding range.
Arla Foods, the manufacturer, alerted its distribution partners to a risk of small glass fragments inside certain pots produced between 11 June and 26 July 2026. As a precautionary measure, BrandActiv immediately deployed teams to retail outlets across Mauritius to remove the affected products from shelves.
Three specific products are concerned. The first is Arla Protein Pudding Chocolate 200g, with best-before dates of 11 January 2027, 7 April 2027 and 7 May 2027. The second is Arla Protein Pudding Salted Caramel 200g, with a best-before date of 22 May 2027. The third is Arla Protein Pudding Vanilla Cookie 200g, with a best-before date of 26 April 2027.
Consumers who have already purchased any of these products are strongly advised not to consume them under any circumstances. They should return the item to the shop where it was bought to receive a full refund. The advice applies regardless of whether the pot appears intact or undamaged.
BrandActiv described the recall as part of its commitment to ethics, transparency and the protection of public health. The company has made its customer service team available to answer questions at the telephone number 206 9500.
What this means for shoppers in Mauritius: if you bought any of the three flavours listed above and the best-before date on the pot matches one of those listed, stop using it immediately. Do not open it, do not taste it, and do not give it to anyone else. Simply bring it back to the supermarket or store where you purchased it with or without a receipt, and you are entitled to a full refund. Glass fragments in food products can cause serious internal injuries if swallowed, so the risk is not trivial. If you are unsure whether your pot is part of the affected batch, err on the side of caution and return it anyway.
Arla Protein Puddings are a popular high-protein dairy snack widely available in supermarkets and health-food stores across the island. BrandActiv distributes a range of international food and consumer brands throughout Mauritius.
