A 51-year-old mason has been arrested in connection with the murder of Saraswattee Mootia, a 60-year-old vegetable vendor whose body was discovered in Triolet on Friday, 18 September.
Police found Mootia's lifeless body at New Market Road, Triolet, at around 10:20 a.m. She was transported to the nearby Mediclinic, where a doctor confirmed her death.

The man, identified as Radhakrishna Mooneesawmy, is a mason who lives in Petit-Raffray, a village in the Rivière du Rempart district in northeastern Mauritius. He had a prior criminal record with the police.
When confronted with the evidence gathered by investigators, Mooneesawmy reportedly confessed quickly.
